Meet our team
Peter Lowish
SEO Expert, Peter Lowish has been developing websites and closely following the search engine marketing aspect of internet marketing on a full time basis since early 1995. Peter sold his start-up business, CyberLink Web Services in 2002 to another Nelson web design company continuing to work with them for another two years.
In November 2004, he established Peter Lowish Internet. A large number of Peter’s original clients sought him out to continue to look after their internet needs and Peter continues to help them to this day. Peter Lowish Internet was rebranded @ web one in March 2007.
“I am passionate about getting results for our clients. I regularly research and test so I can understand how people are using the internet to find products and services. I feel it is our duty to remain knowledgeable about how our clients are being found and how well their websites are performing.”
“We want to exceed our clients’ expectations,” Peter says. He has a wealth of business marketing experience, particularly in the retail and wholesale food industries. Before Peter began working in the internet industry, he was a successful Nelson real estate sales person for several years.
Alex Li
Web Developer Alex Li, from China, graduated from Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Information Technology degree in mid 2009. Alex studied Computer Science for three years in China with excellent academic records and has a sophisticated technical programming background as well as acomprehensive understanding of the web development area.
Alex is passionate about the techniques involved in the IT area. He made the decision to be a web developer because he is so impressed about the internet's contribution to our lives; and also wants to build his involvement in the art scene through absorbing different along side his programming work. “@ web one provides me with a good place to grow. Here, I can enhance my technical background using my creativity and passion to add color for the world through the internet.”
A big Sci-Fi Movie Fan, Alex likes reading novels, with Dan Brown his favorite writer. Other times, Alex enjoys basketball, tennis, swimming and hanging out with friends at a BBQ to make his life more relaxing.
Cheril Barber
Cheril joined us in February 2010. She has a varied role @ web one, including project co-ordinator, sales, web development and some administration duties.
After 6 years of designing and building brochure-style websites, Cheril decided to complete a Diploma in Web Technology at NMIT. During her course she discovered a flair for combining graphic design and programming to produce sites that were attractive, functional and easy to use. Past experience in banking and running a business with her husband has provided her with skills which have proved invaluable when involved in sales discussions with potential clients.
"Web technology is so dynamic, which I find keeps it very fresh and interesting. I enjoy the challenge of taking a client's idea from abstract concepts through to an attractive and practical web site."
Cheril enjoys fishing, reading, photography and spending time with friends and family. Occasionally she can even be convinced to play the piano or guitar for sing-a-longs.
