fFompa: Family and Friends of Missing Persons Aotearoa
is a Charitable Trust dedicated to providing ongoing support, information and education for those left behind when someone goes missing.
The website was motivated by a New Zealand family who had a son and brother go missing in 1989. He is still missing.
As a consequence of this horrible situation, the family are reaching out to help other families and friends of missing persons with this website, which helps with links and information relevant to their situation.
Whilst originally the site was going to be populated with information about current missing people, in conjunction with the New Zealand Police it was decided that because the police saw it as their role to co-ordinate that process, that did not happen. The Police we understand are still working on that resource for their website.
What we did
Our client who is based in Wellington, was very clear on what was required.
We created the site using Silverstripe CMS, which after telephone training and practise now enables maintenance of the site to be done in a stressless and simple way. New pages can be added when required, a calender of events can be maintained, and even a blog within the site has been created.
