The original static Manuka Island website was created in 2001, and apart from the odd bit of maintenance, it had not changed during that time.
This year it was time for a full makeover
What we did
Our brief was simple - make it modern, but keep it simple and make it so we can maintain it. Our clients like the fact that everything could be found easily, it was fast to load - it just looked out of date.
After fully considering the target market for this site, we wanted to bring life to the site by using large images, which would show the visitor the beautiful property, accommodation and surrounds. We achieved this by using script to flow images across the page when the visitor first landed, given them wonderful photo impressions. Then we stop the flowing images so the visitor can get on and read what else was on offer, without being interrupted by eye catching images floating across the top of the page.
Once again we used Silverstripe CMS to create this site, and now the site owners can maintain the content including the photo gallery.
