Self maintenance websites

Websites which have to be maintained by a website designer are no longer the most preferred method of website management. The days of ‘waiting then paying’ for your webmaster to make changes are over - you should have a self-managed website called a CMS (content management system).

Over the years we have used several open source CMS. Times change and for the past 2 years we have been using a New Zealand open source CMS called Silverstripe.

All CMS's give you the opportunity to maintain your website and Silverstripe is no exception. It is however, the easiest open source system that we have seen for our clients to maintain their sites to date, and we have looked at scores of them.

You will receive from us

• Our sound practical and knowledgeable advice, an initial 1½ hour consultation and help every step of the way
• Your customised theme created to suit your business and target market.
• Five pages including: home (landing) page, contact page (with simple contact form and Google location map), about us, one product page, and one links page. This is the minimum you need for a small website.
• Either: one hour's on-site training* (travel costs will be incurred if you are located further than 10kms from Nelson city). Or: one hour's training by telephone (consisting of ½ hour over 2 consecutive days)
• One hour additional phone support.
• Basic search engine optimisation, so your business will be found in the major search engines by your target market searching for your business name

Priced from just $1595 + GST

Optional extras are additional with price ranges based on the expected time required for their implementation. We can also recreate your existing website into a full CMS website.

* Training. During your one hour training you will learn

• Changing content and general website administration
• Adding images, links and new pages
• Maintenance of photo gallery and albums (if purchasing our photo gallery option)
• Optimising web pages for search engine “findability”

Additional training if required, is charged at $60 an hour.
